Our journey begins with a 2.5-hour hike through the enchanting Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve, a sanctuary of breathtaking biodiversity. This natural treasure is home to more than 2,500 plant species (including a remarkable percentage of all species found in Costa Rica), as well as 100 species of mammals, 400 species of birds, and 120 species of reptiles and amphibians.
Along the well-marked trails, we’ll encounter lush ferns, delicate orchids, and from the impressive hanging bridges, enjoy a bird’s-eye view of the forest canopy.
After this magical walk, we will savor a traditional local lunch in a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
Our adventure continues just 10 minutes away with one of Monteverde’s most iconic cultural experiences: the Coffee and Chocolate Tour. We’ll explore the plantations, learn about their history and production processes, and then move on to the Trapiche (sugarcane), where we’ll discover its cultivation, traditional processing methods, and enjoy a tasting of its delicious by-products.
